He also disclosed that his music is on hold as he is focusing on his movie directing career with two major productions Jenifa’s Diary and Industreet. When asked if he had taken a break from music, he said: “Yes. My music is on hold, because I needed to focus on this great opportunity that came to my doorsteps. When I met her, I just met someone that wanted a director for her TV show; Jenifa’s Diary. That was in 2013. We have been going on for a long time, people just found out in 2016. We were very low keyed, because we are two popular people in the entertainment industry. We had to protect our privacy. He also debunked rumours that he had a quarrel with his cousin Moe Musa, which led to Moe leaving his house. “Those who instigated such reports are very stupid! People just say and publish whatever they want without proper investigations and still get away with it. Mr. Moe Musa as at then moved to the next block after mine. I lived in block H, while he is in block G. I spoke with the agents that got him the apartment and he moved in. He used to be in a room in my 3 bedroom apartment, so when my relationship got serious, he moved on. That’s not even the main reason. Moe has been in Nigeria then for almost 6 months, so he felt it was time to get his own place. To be honest, when you first relocate to Nigeria, you’ll find it very hard to stay alone because you don’t understand the system yet. The way things work in Nigeria is different from the way they work in other countries. Moe stayed with me for a while, so he could get used to the Nigerian system. How to get food, how generator works and other confusing stuffs,” he said. He also talked about Olayode Juliana (Toyosi in Jenifa’s Diary) leaving the series. I don’t know why Toyosi left and it has nothing to do with me. Just like any character in a TV series, she can go and return. The only permanent character in the series is Jenifa. Falz has gone and came back, Toyosi has gone and maybe would come back. In the script, Toyosi is married and has gone to France with her husband to live for a while. So, anything can happen. When she comes back, you’d see her on screen, if not, then that’s what the script said. How did you meet Funke Akindele? She wanted someone to direct her TV series, then I was about to embark on recording the JJC album then. Her sister introduced us, because she knew I was into music video directing. So, when I met her, she told me she did a movie sometime ago and would like to turn it into a TV series. We started working together and preparing for the shoot, then one thing led to another. Here we are today, the rest is history. We just clicked. It sounds like love at first sight. Well, I would say so, because first time I saw her, I was wowed. She also told me the same thing. We tried to keep the whole work as professional as possible but along the line, emotions ran high. How was the proposal? Bank W’s style? [Laughs] I’m a romantic person, so I gave her a dose of it. It wasn’t in an open place, because only very few people knew at then.So, that very day, she came home to meet flowers, candles everywhere; quite a romantic set up. When she saw it, she had no choice than to say ‘Yes’. You are both celebrities, how do you succeed in maintaining your private life? Private life, work life, we take it all one day at a time. We don’t worry about outsiders and what they would think, we just do what pleases us. Every single day, we say our prayers and talk about how the day would go. It’s quite a unique and complimentary relationship and I’m enjoying every bit of it. During the Hallelujah Challenge, you received a prophecy of a twin birth. Are you expectant? Yes. Soon! God’s time is the best. We are working on it. How did your kids accept their new step mum? Well, before we got married in London, we all had a good relationship here in Nigeria. The kids were always seeing this beautiful woman around daddy, and she always makes him happy. They might be away and in different continents, but they are part of our daily activities. She is also very close to them, they met her digital first. They didn’t know she is an actress then, because in the UK, they hardly watch Nigerian movies, but they love her so much. They all love each other. It’s a perfect blend. I remember my daughter telling me, ‘Dad make sure you marry her. She’s a keeper’. Asari Dokubo blasts Don Jazzy & Davido over Diezani Alison-Madueke

Former Niger Delta militant leader, Mujaheed Asari Dokubo has weighed in on the alleged $90 billion fraud charge levelled against Nigeria’s former minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke. In a video published on social media platform, Facebook, Dokubo, branded President Buhari and his cabinet members as liars. He stated that if Madueke had looted $90 billion at the current exchange rate and returned it as widely reported, the government would not need to borrow from foreign institutions to finance infrastructural development across the country. Dokubo, who was visibly angry, accused Buhari of embezzling N30 billion naira from the oil sector when he was petroleum minister and head of the PTDF fund under the Late Abacha regime. He also lampooned music artists, Davido and Donjazzy for condemning the former minister without first seeking the truth. Quoting him; “Nigeria is now a country of liars, ruled by liars, and managed by liars. How can somebody just wake-up and claim Diezani embezzled $90 billion? Multiple that amount of dollars with the value of one dollar to the Naira and tell me what the sum is. How much is the Nigerian budget? If Diezani actually embezzled such an amount of money and has returned the loot, why is the federal government still trying to borrow money for infrastructure development? Buhari can lie. He lies like a fish. All the people around him are liars. How much did Buhari loot from the NNPC during his time as Petroleum Minister? At a time, Olunloyo went as far as comparing the toddler with the cartoon character, Droopy. Despite all she has said about his child, it seems the comedian has chosen to be the bigger man. In an exclusive chat with Saturday Beats, the comedian said he holds no grudge against someone people perceive to be his enemy. He said he actually sees brilliance in Olunloyo. He said, “I don’t have any grudge against Kemi Olunloyo. The truth is that I see a lot of brilliance in her but it is just that her way of doing things without having ethical values is what makes people get pissed at her. If she had initially written something like I saw Seyi Law’s daughter’s picture and I think he should watch the weight of his baby so that she doesn’t become obese, that would have been better because it is a piece of advice. It is a better approach and not calling my baby obese without having the necessary precautions like taking the baby’s weight, height, eating routine and other things. If she had done all these things before coming to the conclusion that my baby is obese, that would have been medically fine. If we were in the US or UK; providing a baby’s medical report on social media without the approval of the parents, I know what it entails and the amounts she would pay as fine. The cyberspace is not limited to a country, it is worldwide. She claims to be a citizen of the US and my child is a US citizen. I could decide to sue her in the US and she would pay out of her nose. She could even be the one to pay the money that would send my child to school. Some people are brilliant but they take their stupidity to an extent that they ruin themselves along the line. Brilliance without caution would make you become foolish. This woman can be very good sometimes with some of her reports and she could be blunt at other times with her write-up and we appreciate that but when you operate as a person, you need to be careful with your choice of words. If you want to be blunt, it has to be with evidence. You don’t just say you are blunt by writing falsehood and that is where she has a problem.”

Driver lands in trouble after buying bottles of Hennessy at Lagos club without paying

A driver, Sunday Lawal, 33, who allegedly obtained three bottles of Hennessy and food valued at N75,000 from a bar attendant under false pretences, was on Friday arraigned in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court. The accused, who resides at Bola Ajibola Street, Ikeja, Lagos is standing trial on a two-count charge of obtaining under false pretences and breach of peace. He pleaded not guilty. The prosecutor, Insp. Raji Akeem, told the court that the accused committed the offences on July 9, at Royal Club, Oba Akran, Ikeja. He said that the accused fraudulently obtained three bottles of Hennessy and food for himself and his friends at the club on the pretext that payment would be made after eating and drinking. Akeem said that the complainant, Oluwaseyi Joseph, claimed that when he approached the accused and his friends to pay after eating, they started making flimsy excuses. The prosecutor said that the accused claimed that there was a problem with his ATM card and he did not have enough money to pay for the drinks and food he bought. He said that Joseph immediately notified his manager that the accused and his friends had refused to pay their bill after eating. Akeem said the manager immediately notified the police, who arrested Lawal and took him to the station for further questioning. The offences contravene sections 166 and 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. The Section 314 prescribes a 15-year jail term for obtaining under false pretenses. The Magistrate, Mr T.O Shomade, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum. He adjourned the case until Aug. 9 for mention.

41 year old man “sleeps” with his 13 year old daughter, blames the devil

A 41-year-old man, Sikiru Odejide, who has been sleeping with his 13-year-old daughter since December 2016, has said it was the hand work of the devil. Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Ogun State Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, disclosed that the arrest of the randy father was as a result of a complaint from the victim’s mother, who has been separated from the man. The victim’s mother said her daughter came to her house to inform her that her father had been having carnal knowledge of her since December 2016 with a threat to kill her if she dares tells anybody about it. “She further complained to her mother that she could no longer bear the frequent sexual assault from her father, hence she decided to inform her mother. “The DPO of Sango Police Station, SP Akinsola Ogunwale, detailed detectives to effect the arrest of the randy father, who lives in Onihale area of Ifo Local Government Area of the state. “The suspect, on interrogation owned up to the crime, but attributed it to the devil’s handiwork. “Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered that the suspect be transferred to anti-human trafficking and child labour unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and possible prosecution. “The CP equally directed that the victim be taken to hospital for proper medical attention,” Oyeyemi said.

Ajimobi Reopens Emmanuel Alayande College Of Education, Speaks Over LAUTECH’s Closure

The Oyo state Governor Abiola Ajimobi has ordered the reopening of Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo after meeting with the students, staff and management. The state Governor had earlier ordered the shutdown of the institution following the unruly conduct of the students during protests on June 2. After the students were led by the Provost of the college, Dr Rasak Adefabi, alongside the college management team to apologise, Governor Ajimobi ordered the immediate resumption of academic activities. At the end of the meeting, the Governor said: “Our students should always engage government and relevant stakeholders in dialogue on issues that affect them. “You have apologised to the government and we have seen that you are sober. “We have accepted your apology and hereby announce the re-opening of the institution with immediate effect”. However, the Governor also charged the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) on what to do for the resumption of the school after several months of school closure. He asked that the school management cooperates with the auditors sent by the owner-states (Oyo and Osun) to investigate the finances of the state university. “Is it wrong for government to demand the auditing of a public institution, which government has been spending on?”, he queried. LAUTECH has been shutdown since May 30 over the non-payment of salaries for workers.

Court Orders Forfeiture Of Diezani Alison-Madueke’s $37.5m Banana Island Property

It has been reported that Justice Chuka Obiozor of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos has ordered the temporary forfeiture of a $37.5m property at Banana Island, Ikoyi bought by former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, in 2013. According to the report, counsel to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Anselem Ozioko told the court that the property has 24 apartments, 18 flats and six penthouses and is located at Building 3, Block B, Bella Vista Plot 1, Zone N, Federal Government Layout, Banana Island Foreshore Estate and that she paid for the building in cash. Apart from the property, the court also ordered the temporary forfeiture of the sums of $2,740,197.96 and N84,537,840.70, said to be part of the rent collected on the property. The funds were said to have been found in a Zenith Bank account number 1013612486. Anselem Ozioko also informed the judge that investigations by the agency indicates that the former Minister might have acquired the property using proceeds from fraudulent activities she perpetuated using her office as a Minister. According to him, investigations that have so far been carried out show that Mrs. Alison-Madueke made the $37.5m payment for the purchase of the property in cash, adding that the money was moved straight from her house in Abuja and paid into the seller’s First Bank account in Abuja. He said; “Nothing could be more suspicious than someone keeping such huge amounts in her apartment. Why was she doing that, to avoid attention? We are convinced beyond reasonable doubt because as of the time this happened, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke was still in public service as the Minister of Petroleum Resources.” The ex-parte application taken before the judge was filed in pursuant to Section 17 of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act, No. 14, 2006 and Section 44(2) (k) of the constitution. Listed as respondents in the application are Mrs. Alison-Madueke, a legal practitioner, Afamefuna Nwokedi, and a company, Rusimpex Limited. In a 41-paragraph affidavit attached to the application, an investigative officer with the EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa, explained that Nwokedi, in connivance with Mrs. Alison-Madueke, purposely incorporated the company, Rusimpex Limited, on September 11, 2013 to facilitate the alleged fraud scheme. According to Bawa, when Nwokedi was questioned by the EFCC, the lawyer explained that he had approached Mrs. Alison-Madueke for opportunities in the Oil and Gas industry but the ex-minister told him that being a lawyer, she did not have any such opportunity for him and asked him whether he could in the alternative manage landed properties, an offer which Nwokedi accepted. Bawa said Nwokedi later registered Rusimpex Limited at the Corporate Affairs Commission, wherein a lawyer in his law firm, Adetula Ayokunle, and a Russian, Vladmir Jourauleu, were listed as the directors of the company, while the address of Nwokedi’s law firm in Ikoyi, Lagos was registered as the business address of Rusimpex Limited. The investigator added that when Ayokunle was questioned by the EFCC, he explained that he only appended his signature on the CAC documents at his boss’ instruction, while Jourauleu denied knowledge of the company. The investigator explained: “Sometime in 2013, the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, invited Barrister Afamefuna Nwokedi, the Principal Counsel of Stillwaters Law Firm, to her house in Abuja for a meeting where she informed the said Barrister Afamefuna Nwokedi to incorporate a company and use same as a front to manage landed properties on her behalf without using her name in any of the incorporation documents.” He further explained that Mrs. Alison-Madueke further directed Mr. Afamefuna Nwokedi to meet with Mr. Bisi Onasanya, the Group Managing Director of First Bank of Nigeria Plc for that purpose. “Mr. Stephen Onasanya was invited by the commission and he came and volunteered an extrajudicial statement wherein he stated that he marketed a property at Bella Vista, Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos, belonging to Mr. Youseff Fattau of Ibatex Nigeria Limited to Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke and Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke later bought the property from Mr. Youseff Fattau, through her lawyer, Mr. Afamefuna Nwokedi (who she introduced to him) and that payment for the said property was made through the Abuja office of First Bank of Nigeria Plc. First Bank of Nigeria Plc, through Mr. Barau Muazu, wrote to the commission and also volunteered an extra-judicial statement in writing that they made the payments totaling US37,500,000 to Ibatex Nigeria Limited & YF Construction Development and Real Estate Limited on behalf of Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke and that they collected the entire cash from Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke at her residence of No. 10, Fredrick Chiluba Close of Jose Marti Street, Asokor, Abuja and paid into the First Bank of Nigeria Plc accounts of Ibatex and YF Construction Development and Real Estate Limited on her instruction.” After listening to the EFCC lawyer, Ozioko on Tuesday, Justice Obiozor made an order temporarily seizing the property and the funds. He also directed that the order should be published in a national newspaper has he adjourned the case till August 7th 2017 for anyone interested in the property and funds to appear before his court.

A 39 years old woman identified as Mrs Omotayo Salawudeen, has been arrested by the Osun State Police command for allegedly killing her 43 year old husband, Salawudeen Hakeem, for marrying a second wife. According to the state commissioner of police, Olafimihan Adeoye, the incident happened at the couple’s home at No.11, Adeniran street, Hallelujah Estate, Osogbo and he disclosed this while speaking with journalists today on the achievement of his command for the months of June and mid July. The police Commissioner said his men acted upon the receipt of a case of murder lodged at Dada Estate Divisional Police Headquarters by one Engineer Salawudeen Jimoh of No, 37 Engineer Adesina Salawudeen Street Osogbo, adding that his men who swung into action immediately, carried out comprehensive investigations. The investigations carried out led to the arrest of the deceased wife, Omotayo Salawudeen and her co-plotter, Oladapo Dolapo, (both pictured above) a hired assassin, an ex-convict who just gained his freedom from Ilesa prison about four months ago contacted by Mrs. Omotayo Salawudeen at Sabo Area of Osogbo to kill her husband on the ground that her husband married a second wife and offered N10, 000, 00 for the job as against the N300, 000. 00 earlier demanded. “Having concluded their plans, the duo exchanged numbers while Mrs. Omotayo later called Oladapo to inform him of her husband’s whereabouts. Mrs. Omotayo Salawudeen took Oladapo through the kitchen and hid him inside a store in their apartment. When the husband came, the wife signaled her guest (Oladapo) and immediately, Mrs. Omotayo Salawudeen used pillow to cover her husband’s mouth while Oladapo Dolapo, a musician from Ejigbo, stabbed him to death in his chest”, the CP disclosed. After the killing, Oladapo wrote some inscriptions such as “NO PRICE NO PAY”, “AXE AYE” “FORGIVENESS IS A SIN” on the wall and door respectively under the disguise that the killing was carried out by cultists.
